About US:

The band was formed in 2012 when Trey Wood heard Mara Wood (Formerly Roberts) recording original music in a high school recording club. He introduced himself and the two have been writing music and recording together ever since. Along the way, Andrew Bell was brought in to add some flair on the keys. The three continued to write music and flesh out new ideas bringing more and more music to life. Early in 2023, the band brought on Emily Sims to add in more vocals and work her magic on the computer with web design and group organization. The Addition of Andrew and Emily brought their significant others into the mix too! Lindsey Greer is a huge support and help in the graphic design and creative elements area, and Ethan Sims helps with the technical side of sound mixing. Together, the six of us are the band ... The Band of US!

Mara Wood
Vocals & Guitar

Mara sees herself as a Contorted Willow (A Salix Matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ to be exact); full of life, but has a mindset that takes many twists and turns, looking at things from multiple angles. When she isn’t writing music with her people, she can be found looking under rocks, viewing exoskeletons of insects with her microscope, or drawing cartoons of the people she gets to meet during the day. Many times, those cartoons turn into songs in an attempt to better understand and pray over these strangers. If she ever makes it big, she would love to have a camel named Mike to go hiking with at Oak Mountain State Park.

Andrew Bell

Andrew is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. Hailing from the bustling metropolis known as Alabaster, Alabama, Andrew has played piano since he was 9 and has hardly improved at all since then if we are being honest. His unique playing style has been described as "nearly on tempo and jarringly dissonant." In his free time, Andrew enjoys drinking pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.

Emily Sims
Vocals , Social Media & Web Designer

Emily has always said she thinks in song lyrics. As someone who has grown up with music always being apart of her life, she can’t even image what it would be like to not have such an expressive art form in her history. Emily’s love of music stems from coming from a musical family. Family holidays can’t go by without her and her siblings gathering around the piano to sing together. Music is not the only creative outlet Emily enjoys, She also loves painting and digital design (P.S. I made the website and logo!!) She can be often found with  her iPad and pen in hand working on social media posts, websites, graphic design content, or just coloring. A true nerd at heart, you can’t go wrong talking about Disney or Star Wars with Emily.  She will dive deep into fandoms and fan theories with you! Emily loves being apart of her church worship team and being able to share her love of music while worshiping her Savior and serving her church.  

Lindsey Greer

Lindsey is the fun quirky spark to our team. She brings creative and crafty elements to all of our projects. She is always waiting with warm hugs and smiles to brighten up any day. The band wouldn't be the same without her! You can find Lindsey cheering and singing along at every show!
